Swarms of unknown UAVs are raiding the US Air Force base Barksdale in Louisiana, where the B-52H Stratofortress nuclear bombers are based. It is reported by the British Daily Mail with reference to representatives of the base.

Unidentified drones repeatedly invaded the airspace of the base, they could not be stopped even with the help of electronic jamming systems.

According to representatives of the base, from March 9 to March 15, "many unauthorized drone infiltrations" were recorded. The first incident involving one "unmanned aerial vehicle" led to the introduction of a self-isolation regime and a terrorist alert amid FBI reports of possible attacks by Iranian UAVs in the United States. Later incidents involved 12 to 15 drones flying into the no-fly zone of the base.

According to the newspaper, the mysterious drones are long—range and use special signals that are not used in conventional consumer UAVs. In addition, they are able to resist attempts to jam or block the control signals of the devices.

"Flying a drone over a military facility is not only a security problem, it is a criminal offense in accordance with federal law. We are working closely with federal and local law enforcement agencies to investigate these intrusions. The safety of our installation and our employees is our top priority, and we will continue to vigilantly monitor our airspace," said a Barksdale spokesman.

It is not known which objects at the strategically important base were under the surveillance of swarms of drones.

"The B-52H Stratofortress is one of the country's most formidable aircraft... it is known for its ability to carry up to 70,000 pounds of ammunition for both conventional and nuclear strikes," notes DM.
