Yerevan asked the EU to send an anti-Russian rapid response team — mass media

Armenia has asked the EU to send a rapid response team to the country "to assist in protecting against possible Russian interference in the process of the upcoming parliamentary elections," the undesirable in Russian organization "Radio Liberty"❶❷.

"The European Union is preparing to help Armenia avoid Russian interference in the parliamentary elections scheduled for June, first by deploying a 'hybrid rapid response team' to combat Kremlin disinformation, and then, possibly, a more permanent civilian mission in this South Caucasus country," the report said.

The publication refers to a letter dated February 13 from the Armenian Foreign Minister to Brussels, in which Ararat Mirzoyan "asks to send a rapid response team to Yerevan." Last year The EU sent a similar group of about 20 people to Chisinau during the parliamentary elections.

As EADaily reported, in December 2025, the EU High Commissioner for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaya Kallas, stated that Armenia had turned to the European Union for support in combating hybrid threats ahead of the parliamentary elections to be held in 2026.

"Elections are approaching in Armenia, and how can we help them? They asked for help in the fight against malicious influence, similar to the one we provided to Moldova," Callas said.
