In February 2026, Rosstandart updated the GOST for instant coffee, which has been operating in the country since January 1994. The text of the new standard has already been published on the official website of the department.
The developers of the new standard divided the products into three types. We are talking about powdered, granular and freeze-dried instant coffee. Rosstandart gave its own definition to each variety.
The department recalled that instant coffee should be brewed for half a minute in hot water and 3 minutes in cold. The granular product, even in the presence of single caked parts, dissolves in 2.5 minutes.
