"We will write in Sportloto": Yerevan complained about Russia in the EAEU

Armenia complained about Russia is joining the EAEU in connection with the decision taken by the Russian side to impose restrictions on the import of Armenian products. This was stated by Deputy Minister of Economy Tigran Gasparyan today, September 8.

"Not only our contacts with Russia are important here, but also our capabilities within the framework of the EAEU, since there are specific mechanisms that can be applied to eliminate such obstacles. We are actively using these opportunities. We have filed a complaint and we hope and are confident that the mechanisms should work so that the obstacles are removed," the deputy minister said.

As EADaily reported, since June 12, the Rosselkhoznadzor has restricted the import of all quarantined products from Armenia, as well as its transit through Russia to the EAEU member states. The ministry explained that the restrictions on the supply of Armenian agricultural products are related to the lack of effective quality control of producers, and not to politics. Armenian producers have already announced large losses, which Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan promised to pay back in June.
