Ukraine was left without Slovak diesel: no Russian oil — no fuel

After stopping the transit of Russian oil through Ukraine, the country was left without supplies of Slovak diesel fuel.

"The sad season continues. At the end of last week, the market was shaken by reports of the suspension of supplies of Slovak diesel," writes enkorr.

Hungarian MOL, which owns a refinery in Slovakia, did not give official comments on the reasons and timing of the suspension of supplies.

"But it is obvious that the reason is the suspension of oil supplies through the Druzhba pipeline," the publication noted. They indicate rumors that deliveries will be suspended not for one or two weeks, but until 2 months.

"In case of a long suspension, the market may lose about 30-35 thousand tons in February. As of February 8, only 8.8 thousand cubic meters were supplied through the pipeline. tons, and on February 13, the resource reserves actually disappeared," writes enkorr.

"The volume of 30 thousand tons is not small. Will companies be able to quickly replace it in other countries? Perhaps. Is it necessary? The question is open. Now the market is crowded, so a decrease in supply can balance it out," said Martin Trade founder Vladimir Porayko.

Another company noted that problems can occur at the height of the season.

On the one hand, the Ukrainian market has accumulated reserves. On the other hand, large consumers have stopped purchases, since enterprises cannot carry out full-fledged activities in the conditions of outages.

"Compared to last week, sales are better. But in general, the situation is very sad. We did not expect sales in the winter, but so that ... earlier the price reduction could have saved the situation, but now it does not work," one of the traders told enkorr.

As EADaily reported, on January 27, Russian oil supplies to Slovakia and Hungary through Ukraine stopped. At the same time, the Russian army retaliated against the Odessa-Brody oil pipeline facility, which has a single dispatch service in Brody and a base with the Druzhba oil pipeline. It is known that Naftogaz has completed repairs. However, Russian oil supplies have not resumed.
