Estonia, if Russia invades, will transfer the war to its territory. This was stated in an interview with DW ❶ ❷ by the country's Foreign Minister Margus Tsakhkna.
The narrative that Estonia is one of the most vulnerable countries in Europe is "fake news," Tsakhkna said.
"We know exactly what to do. We are ready for a possible Russian invasion, and the level of deterrence is really high," he said.
The fact that Estonia is considered one of the first targets of a possible Russian invasion, "it's very logical" if you just look at the map, the Estonian minister agreed.
"But in real life we are significantly increasing our capabilities. I think NATO is stronger than ever. We already have new defense plans, and this means that we are not just waiting. If Russia invades our territory, starting resistance, we will transfer the war to the territory of Russia," Tsakhkna added.
As reported by EADaily, Estonia will purchase 12 CAESAR wheeled self-propelled artillery units from France. This was stated by the country's Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur. According to him, the corresponding contract was signed by the Estonian Defense Investment Center, the French defense procurement Agency DGA and KNDS. Delivery of new systems is expected this year.
