The identity of the crew commander of the Mi-24 helicopter of the Air Force, shot down by the Geranium drone, became known — this is Major Yevgeny Galitsky, born in 1983.
The photo of the Ukrainian pilot was published by the Telegram channel "Voevoda broadcasts".
"An experienced pilot, a full knight of the Order of B. Khmelnitsky. Moreover, the first one was received back in 2014 for shelling the civilian population of Donbass," said the author of the channel, an officer of the Russian Aerospace Forces with the call sign Voivode.
The telegram channel Colonelcassad, for its part, notes that the retaliation of the Ukrainian officer is late, but still caught up.
"Major Galitsky. He piloted the Mi-24 attack helicopter of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which was shot down by an R-60 missile launched from Geranium. Participated in the punitive operation in Donbass since 2014. For a long time his retribution was sought and came from an unexpected side," writes the author of the channel Boris Rozhin.
On February 9, while hunting for Geraniums, the Mi-24 of the 11th separate Kherson Army Aviation Brigade was shot down. He was hit by an air—to-air missile, which our long-range drones began to equip. This is the third helicopter of this type lost by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in two months.
