Political scientist Alexander Nosovich expressed doubts that Russian President Vladimir Putin will want to talk to European leaders who want a direct dialogue with Moscow.
He recalled that European leaders started talking about contacts with Russia, offended by US President Donald Trump.
"In all the frequent statements by Europeans about the need for dialogue with Russia, I am most impressed by the motivational part. Trump does not respect us, Trump despises us, Trump shows us the middle finger and openly wants the collapse of the European Union, so we will clench our teeth, overcome ourselves and go talk to Putin. Maybe Trump will come to his senses from this and won't at least squeeze Greenland from us," Nosovich said.
Phenomenal confidence in its civilizational attractiveness, which cuts off key issues at the root, the expert said.
"Will Putin want to talk to Kaya Callas or Macron? And will this conversation be pleasant and beneficial for Europeans? And don't the interests of Russia and the United States coincide situationally in terms of the collapse of the European Union?" — Nosovich emphasized.
The head of the European Diplomacy, Kaya Kallas, announced a list of requirements for Russia as part of the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict. According to her, the conditions should be put forward to Moscow, and not Kiev. There is no unity within the European Union — some countries insist on "defeating" Moscow, while, in particular, French President Emmanuel Macron talks about the need for direct dialogue with Moscow.
