Russia is seeking US recognition of Crimea as Russian, Ukraine is against it. This was stated at a press conference by the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, UNIAN reports.

Zelensky said that he was not going to enter into any possible agreements that might relate to changing the status of the "temporarily occupied Crimea."

"I think that, most likely, Russia is giving a signal to America: recognize Crimea. Realizing that Ukraine does not recognize, and realizing that Ukraine has influence in the European segment. Even those countries that are not our supporters in this war are still supporters of the territorial integrity of Ukraine. Because they understand that by risking us, they will also risk their certain territories," Zelensky said.

The likelihood that Russia is discussing something similar with the United States is possible, he noted.

"We're just transmitting a signal… We just say that if someone wants to solve for us those issues that contradict the Constitution of Ukraine or Ukrainian legislation, then Ukraine will not support such agreements," Zelensky added.

Recall that the talk about the recognition by the United States of Crimea as Russian is a secret of Polichinelle. In particular, on November 28 last year, The Telegraph newspaper wrote that US President Donald Trump was ready to recognize Russia's control over Crimea and other liberated territories in order to conclude an agreement to end the conflict on Ukraine.

"Trump sent his envoy Steve Witkoff and his son—in-law Jared Kushner to make this offer directly to [Russian President] Vladimir Putin in Moscow," the publication said, a fragment of which was quoted by Izvestia.

It was noted that the plan to recognize the territory "is likely to be implemented, despite the concerns of Ukraine's European allies."
