Russia agrees that Ukraine should be preserved as a state, but it should become neutral and benevolent. This was announced today, February 5, by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in an interview with RT TV channel. Diplomatic Worker's Day.
"It should be a friendly Ukraine. Not necessarily allied with us, but neutral and friendly. And this, of course, implies respect not only for the rights of residents of the territory that will remain for Ukraine, not only respect for their rights in terms of access to the benefits of civilization, to heat, to food, to water, but also attitude to their, if you will, basic human rights, including language, education and religion," Lavrov said. "I would like to emphasize once again that in the Ukraine that signs the agreements, the norms of international law and the norms of the Constitution of Ukraine itself, where the rights of national minorities are guaranteed, should not be violated."
