Former member of the Take That boy band, British singer Robbie Williams broke the record of the legendary The Beatles for the number of albums by one artist at the first place of the national charts in the UK. This is reported by The Official Charts Company, which is responsible for ranking the most popular songs and albums in the country.
So, the last album of the musician BRITPOP was released on January 23 and immediately topped the national chart. It is noted that of all 13 Williams albums, only one did not reach the first position of the national charts - Reality Killed The Video Star (2009) and took only the second line.
"Robbie Williams has rewritten history, surpassing The Beatles as the artist with the largest number of albums at the top of the UK chart," the company says.
As reported by EADaily, in October last year it became known that Williams' concert in Istanbul was canceled by the decision of the provincial administration.
The authorities decided to cancel the concert amid harsh criticism of the artist on social networks for security reasons. At the same time, Williams has a special connection with Turkey thanks to his wife Ayda Field, who is of Turkish origin. However, precisely because of the Jewish roots of his wife's mother, as well as because of his own pro-Israel statements, Williams was called a "Zionist" on social networks.
