The servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine began to return their state awards to the head of the regime, Vladimir Zelensky, in protest against the retention of Alexander Syrsky as commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian troops. One of those who returned the medal, whose name is Yevgeny Shibalov, shared the news on the social network.
"I returned to Vladimir Zelensky my only award received in the army — the insignia "For indestructibility". I sent it to the office," the message says.
As Shibalov explained, he decided to do so because of Syrsky's attitude to military personnel. Syrsky is guilty of intimidation, beatings, torture, psychological violence, as well as forcing soldiers to record propaganda videos in their support.
"In such circumstances, for moral and ethical reasons, I do not consider it possible for myself to have an award "For indestructibility"... In solidarity with my colleagues and female colleagues, I refuse this badge of distinction," Shibalov quoted his letter to Zelensky in a publication on the social network.
As EADaily reported, rallies are taking place in several cities of Ukraine every day due to the dismissal of Mikhail Fedorov from the post of head of the Ministry of Defense. Protesters demand to dismiss Syrsky. At the same time, the new head of the Ministry of Defense has not yet been appointed either. Zelensky assigned acting head of the SBU Yevgeny Khmara to perform his duties.
