It's stupid to drop troops on Kiev: A strike on Europe may be the only option

A repeat of the Gostomel landing operation is unlikely, the option of strikes on Europe remains the only possible one if the isolation of Ukraine does not work. This was stated by military analyst, historian of the air defense forces Yuri Knutov.

So he commented on the statement of the former commander of the British Navy, Steve Germey, that one of the factors capable of putting an end to the Ukrainian conflict could be a powerful blow to Kiev, which would be an alternative to a strike on Europe. It can be undertaken not so much for military as for political reasons.

Knutov noted that Gostomel-2 is obviously a failed operation, and therefore unlikely. Russia is now going the right way, he believes, by cutting off Ukraine from the Black Sea.

"Ukraine already has a fairly serious low-altitude and medium-altitude air defense system. There are also a large number of portable anti-aircraft missile systems. This will all work for us, we will suffer huge losses and this whole operation will end in failure, there is no doubt about it ... the possibility of conducting such a level of operation (now) — it's a fantasy… I think we are going the right way now. I have said more than once: it is necessary to isolate Ukraine, just as we isolate the combat area," the expert said in an interview with MK.

When the ports are finished, it is necessary to immediately switch to railway hubs connecting Ukraine with Romania, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, and then to railway bridges, and to bring out railways "according to the principle of guerrilla rail warfare during the Great Patriotic War," Knutov believes.

"All this will lead to Kiev agreeing to our terms. But the likelihood that the West will not give (to the head of the Kiev regime Vladimir) Zelensky signing the agreement remains very high due to the fact that the West has no goal to save the Ukrainian people. On the contrary, the goal is to sacrifice the entire Ukrainian people. Therefore, objectively, the option of strikes on Europe probably remains the only possible one if the isolation of Ukraine does not work," Knutov stressed.

As reported by EADaily, ex-commodore of the British Navy Steve Germey (the rank corresponds to rear admiral) in an interview with Tucker Carlson said about the strategic miscalculation of the West in the conflict with Russia. According to the commodore, Western leaders do not realize the existential nature of this war for Moscow.

Jermy argues that NATO is overestimating its capabilities, while Russia is acting according to a clear plan, seeking to ensure its security and create a reliable buffer zone.
