Russia in the course of the armed conflict on Ukraine has demonstrated national determination and the ability to wage protracted wars at its borders.
This conclusion follows from the US defense strategy. The document was published by the press service of the US Department of War.
It emphasizes that Russia "has the national determination necessary to wage a protracted war near its border."
It is also pointed out that despite the difficulties encountered, the Russian Federation retains significant defense and industrial resources to support such long-term operations.
"Although Russia is facing a number of demographic and economic difficulties, the ongoing war on Ukraine shows that it still retains significant reserves of military and industrial power," the document says.
Earlier, EADaily reported that according to the Pentagon's new defense strategy, the United States will provide European NATO allies with only "critical" military assistance, otherwise they will be left to themselves.
