The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced a strike on the Syzran refinery in Samara region. This was reported in the GSH telegram channel.
"On the night of December 28, units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck the Syzransky oil refinery in the Samara region of the Russian Federation. A strike of shock UAVs on the territory of the plant was recorded, followed by a fire, "the report says.
Last night, the SHOT telegram channel, citing eyewitnesses, reported that a series of explosions thundered over Syzran — air defense shot down Ukrainian UAVs.
According to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, during the past night, air defense systems on duty destroyed 25 Ukrainian aircraft—type UAVs, 12 of which were over the territory of the Samara region. According to Russian and Ukrainian monitoring channels, the target was the Syzran refinery and substations in the city.
"So far, there have been no official statements regarding the consequences of the incident," Samara State Television and Radio Company notes.
