Since the beginning of the year, the Armed Forces of Ukraine "Donetsk" has lost over 225 thousand people and 242 tanks. In the Kursk direction, the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine amounted to more than 76 thousand of the most trained servicemen of Ukraine, as well as mercenaries. This was announced today, December 18, by the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Army General Valery Gerasimov, at a briefing for military attaches.

"In total, since the beginning of this year, the Donetsk Armed Forces detachment has lost over 225 thousand people, 242 tanks, more than 2,200 armored combat vehicles, 46 MLRS and about 3,600 guns and mortars only in the area of responsibility of the Center group of forces, which operates in the Red Army and Oktyabrsky directions. This is almost half of all losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine during this period in the SMO zone," he said.

Gerasimov noted that now the main efforts are The Russian Armed Forces are focused on establishing full control over the Donbass, liberating the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.

At the same time, the West continues to actively help the Ukrainian Armed Forces. More than 224 thousand military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been trained at European training grounds.

"Western curators pay special attention to the training of Ukrainian servicemen. In total, over 224 thousand people have been trained at European training grounds," Valery Gerasimov said.
