The Russian Embassy in Britain: London has surpassed itself in lies

The British authorities have surpassed themselves in cynicism and misrepresentation of facts by including in the new package of sanctions a fund to support and protect the Rights of Compatriots living abroad. This is stated in the statement of the Russian Embassy in The United Kingdom today, December 10.

"The cynicism of the decision is off the scale. Recall that the main function of the Fund is to provide support to those Russians living outside their homeland who are faced with the need to defend their rights in foreign courts, but are having difficulty paying for the services of lawyers. The inclusion of the Fund in the "black list" in practice deprives the most vulnerable representatives of the Russian diaspora, who are often already under pressure from local authorities, of the opportunity to defend their legitimate rights and interests," the diplomatic mission noted.

They pointed out that in the official explanatory document, the British authorities acknowledge that the evidence base for listing was collected through "open sources" and there may be information contradicting the conclusions of the British authorities.

"Does this mean that the government of the United Kingdom has taken advantage of Google and artificial intelligence in such an important issue and is no longer hiding that the restrictions imposed are groundless and illegitimate?" — they ask a rhetorical question at the embassy, noting that by such actions "London has surpassed itself."

The UK hopes that these sanctions methods will help save the Ukrainian project. But sanctions will not prevent Russia, they will simply once again demonstrate to the world the hypocritical nature of official London, which in fact does not put high principles into anything, about which it talks so much, the statement says.

As EADaily reported, on the eve of London expanded the anti-Russian sanctions list by seven positions. In addition to the Foundation, restrictions are extended to the philosopher Alexander Dugin and the military analytical center Rybar, including its head Mikhail Zvinchuk. In addition, sanctions were imposed on the Center for Geopolitical Expertise and the Brussels information resources Golos and Euromore.
