Two sabotage groups of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) engaged each other in a shooting battle near Kupyansk while trying to enter the territory of the city.
This was reported on Monday, November 24, by the TASS news agency, citing a source in Russian law enforcement agencies. He explained that the task of the saboteurs was the demonstrative installation of Ukrainian flags.
"Near Kupyansk, two enemy sabotage groups mistakenly shot each other, there is data from radio intercepts. It is known that their tasks included the destruction of our forces in one of the sections of the city for the future breakthrough of defense. In addition, a demonstration installation of Ukrainian flags was planned, allegedly indicating that the city is partially under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces," the source said.
He clarified that the clash of the two Ukrainian DRGs was the result of the lack of interaction between the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as the illiterate command of unprepared personnel.
According to the Russian side, as a result of this unsuccessful attempt to penetrate Kupyansk, the enemy suffered five people killed, three more were wounded.
As EADaily reported, on November 21, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation confirmed the liberation of the city of Kupyansk, Kharkiv region, which was the result of a successful offensive by the Zapad group of forces.
