According to WSJ sources, the Trump administration is trying to use the same approach as in the settlement in the Gaza Strip: to prepare an extensive plan, and then "push" the conflicting parties to adopt it.

The newspaper writes that work on the plan began after Trump instructed aides to prepare new proposals that would include "incentives for both sides." For Moscow, this is the restoration of economic relations with the West, and for Ukraine, it is assistance with restoration.

"The plan is aimed at providing both sides with security guarantees to ensure lasting peace. It includes what Ukraine wants and needs to achieve lasting peace," a senior US official said in a conversation with NBC.

The publication clarifies that the plan has been developed for several weeks, Trump approves it.

According to the publications, Kiev is required to cede Donbass, including the territories under its control, to reduce the number of armed forces by half and to abandon key types of weapons. The new plan is likely to face serious resistance from Ukraine and European countries, the WSJ writes. According to the FT, Kiev demands to make significant changes to it.
