Gained fame in Russian Ukrainian comedian Eduard Matsaberidze explained his reluctance to return to Ukraine and join the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was discussed in an interview with journalist and blogger Irina Shikhman❶.
According to Matsaberidze, at the time of the start of the special military operation, he was not on the Ukraine.
"I left two weeks in advance and, as a matter of fact, there was no desire to return to the war. I knew they wouldn't let me out," the comedian said.
"We must admit, of course, it's scary," he added.
Matsaberidze understands that any thought he may express on this topic will look like an excuse. Someone has the fortitude to go to war, and someone is afraid to do it.
"I am naturally afraid. Many are afraid and go, I am not," Matsaberidze concluded.
Matsaberidze was born in Gagra (Georgian SSR, now Abkhazia), then together with his parents moved to Ukraine. He started his career in 2000 with the KVN Tm-TV team. Later he was invited to the Ukrainian team "Three Fat Men", which represented Khmelnitsky. In 2006, the comedian was invited to the Comedy Club Ukraine Kyivstyle, where he performed until 2010. Then he began to appear in the Russian projects "Killer League", "Laughter without rules".
