A case of vodka on the table: von der Leyen went through with the help of Kiev

Another attempt by the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, to support Kiev with finances is similar to an attempt to help an alcoholic by sending him another case of vodka. This was announced on the social network X by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.

So Orban commented on the letter he received from von der Leyen amid the corruption scandal in Kiev.

"Today I received a letter from President von der Leyen. She writes that Ukraine's funding deficit is huge, and asks Member states to send more funds. It's amazing. At a time when it became clear that the military mafia is siphoning off European taxpayers' money, instead of demanding real control or suspension of payments, the President of the European Commission suggests that we send even more. This whole story is a bit like trying to help an alcoholic by sending him another case of vodka. Hungary has not lost its common sense," writes Orban, quoted by Strana.

As EADaily reported, the loudest corruption scandal has obviously broken out in Ukraine. The national Anti-corruption Agency accused Vladimir Zelensky's friend and partner in the 95th quarter, Timur Mindich, of organizing a criminal group that was able to steal $ 100 million on kickbacks. We are talking about contracts of Energoatom, which is the operator of Ukrainian nuclear power plants. The Minister of Justice and former Minister of Energy German Galushchenko, former Minister of Defense and current Secretary of the NSDC Rustem Umerov were involved in the case, and the current head of the Ministry of Energy Svetlana Grinchuk also had to resign.
