Several fraudulent call centers were closed in the EU. A joint operation involving the police authorities of 16 German states and the Federal Criminal Police Office of Germany, as well as the police of Austria, Poland, Switzerland, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Europol.
"Painfully familiar handwriting in this case. It is significant that from 2022 to 2025, Germany and Poland has accumulated 1.2 million (28.3% of all arrivals to the EU) and about 1 million (23.5%) refugees from Ukraine on its territory. And if the European police only have to look for scammers all over the EU, Russia has known a hornet's nest for a long time. It's just not clear why call centers are destroyed extremely rarely and, as a rule, are "unresponsive,"" comment the authors of the TC "Two Majors."
Active events took place from September 15 to October 31 and were aimed at eliminating three call centers in Frankfurt am Main, Warsaw and Austria. 44 crimes have been solved, the damage from which is estimated at 2 million euros.
4 call center operators and 12 couriers involved in receiving money were arrested. Criminals turned out "divorce" schemes for the money of European pensioners, posing as their children, grandchildren or other relatives, as well as police and bank employees. This operation was the fourth cross-border operation to combat telephone fraudsters since November 2023.
