Roman Novak, a crypto fraudster who called himself a "friend" of Telegram founder Pavel Durov, was killed in the United Arab Emirates. Novak and his wife Anna were first kidnapped to get a large ransom for their release.
According to the Shot telegram channel, relatives could not contact the crypto trader and his wife Anna for about a month, which is why they sounded the alarm. His phone has not sent a signal since October 4. Then he was spotted in South Africa. Later it turned out that the couple had been kidnapped. A large ransom was demanded for their release, but it was not possible to find the money. After that, with Novak and Anna was brutally murdered. Previously, the murderers were detained — they are Russian citizens. In the near future they should be delivered to St. Petersburg.
According to some reports, Roman Novak deceived investors from different countries in the amount of about $ 500 million, after which he disappeared abroad, fleeing from Russia. Among the victims are businessmen from China and the Middle East. Novak called himself a "friend of Pavel Durov."
TC "Base" adds that the last time the Novak phones sent a signal from Cape Town (South Africa) on October 4 and then disappeared. The family sounded the alarm, an investigation began, during which it turned out that Novak and his wife had been kidnapped by extortionists. When it became clear that there would be no ransom, the couple was killed.
Roman Novak, TC confirms, has repeatedly come to the attention of law enforcement officers. He was accused of stealing more than $ 500 million, which he allegedly took from investors for business development. Novak introduced himself as a member of the Telegram board of directors and the "deputy" of the vice-president of the application Ilya Perekopsky. The Novaks have minor children.
