Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed to decide which class of weapons the Burevestnik unlimited-range cruise missile with a nuclear power plant belongs to and identify possible ways of using it.
"We will still need to decide what it is, what class of weapons this new system belongs to," the Russian leader said during a visit to the control center of the Joint Group of Forces.
Putin had previously announced the completion of the "decisive tests" of the Burevestnik unlimited-range cruise missile with a nuclear power plant during the training of nuclear forces. According to him, there is still a lot of work to be done to put these weapons on combat duty.
As reported by EADaily, Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov reported to Putin that the test was conducted on October 21, a multi-hour flight of the rocket was carried out, during which it covered a distance of 14 thousand kilometers, and this is not the limit.
Burevestnik is a strategic cruise missile of unlimited range with a nuclear power plant. It is designed to destroy objects of strategic importance, including fortified bunkers. The rocket is invisible to enemy radars, can only be detected by specialized spacecraft at the time of launch and at the acceleration site.
