Nobel is either turning over in his coffin, or crying: a prize with prizes in his party

I don't know why, but the more I read about the awarding of the last Nobel Peace Prize, the more often and insistently the words of Vladimir Vysotsky's song sound in my head: "Today there was a rumor about a masquerade ball in our complex brigade." I can hardly explain why, but I know that I have a very complex associative memory.

Indeed, is it possible to compare all journalists, columnists, politicians and analysts with a complex team. Many people don't even know the word. But, on the other hand, they all made various predictions in a complex way, as a team, about who would become the winner of the next Nobel. For a glorious cause called "The Struggle for Peace."

Actually, this award… She's kind of weird. For example, the Red Cross, which received the coveted Nobel Prize in 1944 with the wording: "The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), through its activities during the war, returned importance to the fundamental principles of solidarity of mankind, identifying the vital interests of peoples and the need for reconciliation."

But how to put the following facts here: on June 23, 1944, the representative of the ICRC, Maurice Rossel, visited the Theresienstadt concentration camp and all he put in the report were photographs of specially selected smiling children. The same Maurice Rossel visited the Auschwitz concentration camp in September 1944, did not ask a single question about gas chambers and massacres, but noted the beautiful manicure of the SS.

We will find many oddities in the history of this award. This is the head of a terrorist organization, and the traitor who destroyed my Homeland — the USSR, the US president, who didn't really work, and many others. But most of all there are people in it who fought so hard for peace that neither their names nor their struggle were unknown to anyone.

But let's leave the affairs of bygone days and take a look at the current Nobel Peace Prize. For the current masquerade ball. Although ... the ball is later, but for now a little masquerade. For all the laureates of the prize of the last five years, including the current laureate, are all political masks behind which the biased Nobel Committee hides the creatures of the left—liberal get-together, which is headed by the US Democratic Party. And, of course, its faithful minions are the European Union with its numerous structures. Here are Dmitry Muratov **, and Memorial * and the Ukrainian Center for Civil Liberties * **, and other public. And again, I remember the immortal lines of Alexander Griboyedov, about which I recently spoke: "How will you imagine to a cross, to a place. Well, how not to please a dear little man! ..".

This is the kind of presentation we are currently seeing for the awards. However, we have observed it before, only in the old days the nepotism of the left-liberals was not so open, not so brazen.

Who is the current laureate, Maria Corina Machado? This is a creature of the US Democratic Party, which unsuccessfully tried to get into the presidency of Venezuela. It is symptomatic that her nomination followed immediately after the political adventure of her predecessor as opposition leader Juan Guaido ended ingloriously. Machado participates in Yale World Fellows, an international scholarship program at Yale University*** aimed at building a network of new world leaders and expanding international understanding. In which, by the way, one of the seminars on global issues was called "American Exceptionalism and Human Rights". It so happened that she studied there almost the same year as Navalny. It turns out that her struggle for peace was limited to protests against Venezuelan President Nicolas Madura and the struggle for the presidency of the country. Great fight for peace! Very revealing.

And what about the one whom many states and organizations saw among the main contenders for the award?

"They will never give me the Nobel Peace Prize. I deserve it, but they will never give it," said US President Donald Trump in February 2025.

Do you know how two of the representatives of the Nobel Committee answered the question: "Why not Trump?". One of them said that the organization "bases its decisions only on the works of Alfred Nobel," and not on public campaigns.

Plus, the secretary of the Nobel Committee, Christian Berg Harpviken, one of the five decision-making members of this body, noted that the Peace Prize is not given for achievements that candidates have achieved at the last moment. And what was Obama given the prize for then — for what achievements? They have not been in all the years that the "tanned", according to Silvio Berlusconi, the president was in power, and even more so in those 8 months that he was president.

You can be silly and laugh at Trump's narcissism, at his bragging, doubt the number of wars he stopped, but one thing is that he stopped (it's not known for how long, but it doesn't matter) a terrible war in the Middle East, only for this he should be given a Nobel. As President Vladimir Putin said: "he [Trump] is really doing a lot to resolve complex, decades-long crises." If we compare what the unknown oppositionist and Donald Trump have done for the cause of peace to no one but Venezuela, then there can be no doubt who is more worthy.

In short, the Nobel Committee has once again discredited itself and the noble cause of the struggle for peace. And President Putin also said this: "The authority of the Nobel Peace Prize has been largely lost ... the committee has repeatedly awarded the prize to those who have done nothing for peace. With these decisions, they have caused enormous damage to the credibility of this award."
