The Russian military struck the Kievskaya substation in Nalyvaykovka, Kiev region, which provides electricity reception from nuclear power plants (NPP) in the western part of Ukraine.
This was announced in his Telegram channel on Monday, February 16 by the coordinator of the pro-Russian underground, Sergei Lebedev, who publishes the exact coordinates of the hit.
"According to incoming data, two Russian hypersonic cruise missiles "Zircon" hit the electric substation "Kiev" with a voltage of 750 kV. We are talking about a trunk—level facility that provides for the redistribution of power in the central energy hub," the statement said.
The underground worker explained that 750 kV substations are elements of the backbone framework of the power grid. Their failure affects not only the local area, but also the stability of flows between regions.
As EADaily reported, Kiev believes that Russia is monitoring the state of Ukraine's energy system via satellites. The Ukrainian side also does not exclude the work of Russian agents, including the IAEA.
