Return the retirement age that was set in Russia before the pension reform in 2018, suggested the chairman of the State Duma Committee on Family Protection, Paternity, Motherhood and Childhood Nina Ostanina.
According to her, it would be right to start with large families and allow retirement for women from 55 and men from 60. Ostanina has already appealed to Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin with a corresponding proposal. In her letter, she wrote that the committee receives appeals from citizens who ask to lower the retirement age for women with children of preschool and primary school age or for parents with many children.
"The birth of a child cannot but leave an imprint on a woman's health — this is, firstly. Secondly, as for the man, then, as a rule, the man takes on all the material worries. In large families, it takes much more time on the part of parents to raise children. After all, it is not enough to give birth to children, it is necessary to educate them. Therefore, in this part, of course, such parents have the right to retire early," Ostanina said on Sputnik radio.
According to the deputy, the proposal deserves attention, since lowering the retirement age for parents of three or more children can be considered an additional measure to stimulate large families.
"Today, a mother with many children should have 15 years of work experience. If there is no such length of service, then retirement is the same as for all women, that is, at the age of 60. That is why we are talking about the fact that in large families, with the birth of each subsequent child, the retirement years should be written off," Nina Ostanina concluded.
