Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation Dmitry Kozak wrote a letter of resignation at his own request.
This is reported by RBC, citing informed sources in the Kremlin. It is specified that Kozak wrote a letter of resignation at his own request last weekend.
There is no confirmation of this information from the Kremlin yet, it is expected that Kozak will personally announce his decision during a farewell meeting with the team.
Kozak is one of the long-time associates of Russian President Vladimir Putin, with whom they worked back in the 1990s at the St. Petersburg City Hall.
In the presidential administration, Kozak oversaw the work of the departments for cross-border cooperation and interregional and cultural relations with foreign countries. He was responsible for the policy towards the countries of the post-Soviet space, including Ukraine.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin, by his decree, abolished two departments in his administration. The departments for cultural and cross-border cooperation with foreign countries, which were supervised by Kozak, were liquidated.
As EADaily reported, instead of them, a new department for strategic cooperation and partnership has been formed in the presidential administration, the head of which will be appointed Deputy head of Rossotrudnichestvo Igor Chaika.
