Before the American actor Bruce Willis was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia, his wife, actress and model Emma Heming-Willis, began to have thoughts about divorce. She admitted this in an interview with Vanity Fair magazine.
She recalled that in 2022, the actor was diagnosed with aphasia (impaired production or perception of speech while maintaining hearing), only after that frontotemporal dementia was detected. Already during this period, his behavior changed a lot, and Heming began to think about divorce.
"It seemed that the marriage was collapsing. I just couldn't figure out what was wrong. But he was no longer the man I married," she recalls, adding that these memories are now unpleasant for her.
However, after the diagnosis, it became clear that the changes in the actor's behavior were due to his serious illness. Heming-Willis decided to stay with her husband and take care of him.
Bruce Willis and Emma Heming got married in 2009. Two daughters were born in the marriage, who are now 11 and 13 years old.
As reported by EADaily, at the end of August it became known that the family resettled the star of Die Hard in a separate house with round-the-clock medical support.
Heming explained that it is convenient for the star to move around in a one-story separate building, there is no unnecessary noise that can cause destabilization of Willis's condition.
