Hollywood actor and producer Bruce Willis, who suffers from frontotemporal dementia, was moved by his family to a separate house with round-the-clock medical support. This was announced by the artist's wife, actress and model Emma Heming in an interview with ABC.
Heming also spoke about the completion of her book The Unexpected Journey: Finding Strength, Hope, and Yourself on the Caring Path, which tells about the life and diagnosis of Willis.
Heming noted that after several years of illness, the actor's brain begins to "fail", he gradually loses the ability to communicate. According to the artist's wife, one of the first signs of the disease was that the actor forgot his lines on the set, while with the Willis family he behaved distantly and coldly.
"Bruce is in good health overall. It's just that his brain is failing him. Speech goes away, but we have learned to adapt. We communicate with him in a different way," the actress said.
At the same time, the family still sees "echoes" of the former Willis.
Heming clarified that the actor has round-the-clock medical supervision in a one-story detached house. It is convenient for the star to move around in the building, there is no unnecessary noise that can cause Willis's condition to destabilize.
"When we come to visit him, we either stay outside or watch a movie, the main thing is to be there with Bruce. It's so good to see how many of Bruce's friends come to visit him," Heming added.
As reported by EADaily, the artist's family has maintained maximum openness since the diagnosis, and relatives have not given any comments about the deterioration of Willis's condition. In April of this year, the family stated that, despite the progression of the disease, the condition of the star remains stable.
In April of this year, it became known that the actor had practically stopped reading and speaking, and could hardly walk.
