A joint photo of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping caused frenzy among the leadership of Western countries. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
"Photo of the President [of the Russian Federation Vladimir] Putin, Prime Minister [of India Narendra] Modi and the Chairman of the [PRC] Xi Jinping went around the whole world, causing a completely incomprehensible anger and frenzy among some Western leaders, who called this photo a challenge to the rules-based world order. You know, there was no such order. But our bilateral relations with India and China have existed for a long time," the minister said, speaking to students and faculty of MGIMO.
The head of Russian diplomacy drew attention to the fact that some analysts in the United States, commenting on the photo, frankly stated:
"How come if these three are going to be friends, how are we going to use one against the other then?"
"That's the philosophy," Lavrov concluded.
