Russian and Azerbaijani Foreign Ministers Sergey Lavrov and Jeyhun Bayramov had a telephone conversation. This is reported by the Russian Foreign Ministry in its telegram channel.
It is noted that the conversation took place on the initiative of the Azerbaijani side.
"The foreign ministers exchanged their first assessments of the meeting of the bilateral intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation held in Astrakhan yesterday under the co-chairmanship of the Deputy heads of government of the Russian Federation and Azerbaijan," the statement said.
In addition, Lavrov and Bayramov discussed the latest developments in the South Caucasus region and the interaction of Moscow and Baku is on multilateral platforms.
Earlier, the conversation between Lavrov and Bayramov was reported in the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
As EADaily reported, the meeting in Astrakhan was held on August 22 under the co-chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexei Overchuk and Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Shahin Mustafayev.
During the meeting, Overchuk stressed that Russian-Azerbaijani relations are mutually beneficial, the press service of the Russian government reported.
