The former participant of the Star Factory project, Belarusian singer Rita Dakota (Margarita Belogai, nee Gerasimovich) received a Russian passport back in 2022. The Shot telegram channel found out about this.
"35-year-old Margarita Gerasimovich received a Russian passport on December 22, 2022. A little later, in July 2023, she reissued her Russian passport after marriage, changing her surname to Belogai. The artist also made changes to IP, which she registered in February 2022 as a citizen of Russia, " the publication says.
In 2023, the singer moved with her family to the USA, where she positions herself exclusively as a citizen of Belarus. At the same time, Dakota continues to earn in the Russian Federation, within six months she managed to earn 14 million rubles on the sale of T-shirts that are available on Russian marketplaces.
As reported by EADaily, at the end of July, Dakota announced that her career in Russia is finished.
"I can no longer perform in Russia. I can't play concerts where my soul has remained forever," the artist wrote.
According to her, the concerts continued as long as it was possible, "as long as I could remain a free, honest and independent artist."
Dakota's last concert in Moscow took place in October 2023.
