Three first-year students of the Russian State University of Art and Industry (RSHPU) named after Stroganov in Moscow was expelled from the university after dancing on the background of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow. This was reported to the RBC portal in the press service of the educational organization.
"They were expelled for violating public order and insulting the religious feelings of citizens. Such behavior is incompatible with the status of a student of a state university," said Olesya Maruskina, head of the press service department.
According to her, the girls were expelled on June 6.
According to the portal "Rise", activists of the public movement "Forty Sorokov" drew attention to the publication on social networks with girls twerking against the background of the temple. Activists demanded to bring female students to justice. According to the publication of the movement in social networks, the girls were not only expelled from the institute, but also sentenced to 11 months of compulsory or forced labor.
The university did not comment on the administrative punishment of the girls, forwarding questions about the responsibility of former students to the "competent authorities".
