Russia and the United States have agreed on a meeting between the presidents of the two countries, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, in the coming days, and details are being worked out. This was announced by Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov.
"At the suggestion of the American side, an agreement was agreed in principle to hold a bilateral summit meeting in the coming days, that is, a meeting between President Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump," the diplomat said. "Now, together with our American colleagues, we are starting a concrete study."
He also confirmed that Steven Witkoff had touched on the idea of a trilateral meeting with Vladimir Zelensky in a conversation with Putin the day before, but "Moscow left it without comment."
No information was disclosed regarding the date and place of the summit.
"The landmark was designated as next week, but the parties are starting directly to prepare for this important meeting and it is difficult to say how many days the preparation will take. But the option of holding a meeting within the next week was considered, and we are quite positive about this option," said the assistant to the President of the Russian Federation.
