The first in Russia opened a criminal case against the so-called dropovod, said the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation Irina Volk.
"Investigators of the Moscow headquarters of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia initiated the first criminal case in our country against the so-called dropovod. < A citizen has been detained who was buying and reselling electronic means of payment for use in criminal activities," she wrote in her Telegram channel.
Volk noted that "one of the so-called drops took advantage of the right to be released from criminal liability in case of active assistance to the investigation, he provided important information about those to whom he transferred the account opened to him to the department."
Based on these testimonies, investigators initiated the first criminal case on the grounds of a crime under part six of Article 187 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
"During the search at the registration address of the so-called dropovod, operatives found equipment, mobile phones, SIM cards, as well as bank cards that were used to steal money from Russian citizens," Volk said.
The malefactor was charged with the incriminated act and a preventive measure was chosen in the form of a subscription not to leave and proper behavior. The preliminary investigation is ongoing.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation recalled that the purchase, transfer and subsequent use of other people's bank cards and accounts is a criminal offense.
