The Soviet car "Zhiguli" has become a symbol of the revival of the US automotive industry

The Republican Party of the USA has published on its account in the social network X a post about the "return of the great American cars." The illustration for it was a photo of US President Donald Trump in a corporate cap with the inscription "Make America great again."

The slogan that is placed on the poster also contains a call for large-scale transformations. It reads: "Let's bring back the great American car." At the same time, in other appeals it is noted that a "big beautiful bill" should contribute to this.

However, the most interesting is the very "great American car" that is depicted in this campaign leaflet. Even American users easily recognized it as a Soviet "Zhiguli" (VAZ 21-01).

As a result, sarcastic comments followed. So, a Republican from California wrote that "Soviet prosperity will now save a decaying America."

It should be noted that auto experts agree that the advertising specialists of the Republican Party used a stock image of a Soviet car in order not to get into advertising or legal contradictions with American manufacturers.
