The head of the right-wing populist party Reform UK ("Reform the United Kingdom") Nigel Farage raised his voice to a Democratic congressman because of criticism of US President Donald Trump, Politico newspaper writes.

American congressmen arrived in the UK to discuss the new law on the secure Internet — in the United States they believe that it is unfair to American tech companies.

During the meeting, Democratic Congressman Jamie Raskin talked about freedom of speech in the United States and declared "threats from Trump." Faraj interrupted Raskin and noted that the officials did not gather to discuss the policy of the US president.

The head of Reform UK urged the congressman to behave like a "guest." After the party leader called Raskin "the most stubborn person he has ever met." To this the congressman replied: "That's why we staged a revolution against you."

One of the Democrats in an interview with Politico noted that Farage looked "unbalanced" during the dispute with Raskin.

Reform UK has existed since 2018. At first it was known as the Brexit Party, which advocated Britain's withdrawal from the European Union without an agreement, the party was renamed Reform UK in 2021. It was founded by Nigel Farage, who was a member of the European Parliament from 1999 to 2020, and from 2006 to 2016 (intermittently) — the leader of the right-wing conservative eurosceptic Party of the Independence of the United Kingdom (United Kingdom Independence Party — UKIP).

In its program, Reform UK focuses on the fight against illegal migration — it promises to pursue a policy of "zero tolerance for those who enter Britain illegally."
