Western experts state that the Russian armed forces have made significant progress in Ukraine. The main object of the Russian offensive remains the Pokrovsk area.
Retired German General Erhard Buhler analyzes the Pokrovsky direction in the podcast "What to do, General?" on the MDR Fernseen TV channel:
"This is where the situation for Ukraine is really getting worse. The Russians managed to take control of key supply routes."
According to the general, if the Russians block the supply route in the northwest, the Ukrainians will have no choice but to leave the city.
"Pokrovsk is an important transport hub and logistics center of the Ukrainian armed forces in the Donbas. In combination with other Russian attacks in Chasov Yar, Toretsk and north of the Estuary, this could create an operationally advantageous starting position for an attack on a fortified belt in the Donetsk region. That is, on Konstantinovka, Kramatorsk and Slavyansk," Buhler continued.
According to the expert of the American analytical center "Institute for the Study of War" Angelica Evans, the capture of this belt "will bring Russia closer to control over the entire Donbass."
In turn, the Austrian military analyst Colonel Markus Reisner downright admired the power of Russian weapons, exclaiming:
"The vanguards of Russian offensive units are crashing into eastern Ukraine like the teeth of a giant saw!"
According to Reisner's forecast, in the event of the fall of Pokrovsk, Russian troops will be able to advance further to the Dnieper through poorly fortified lines.
