Kiev will teach the States to fight: Zelensky and Trump discuss a mega—deal on UAVs - NYP

US President Donald Trump and the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, are discussing the possibility of concluding a "mega deal" in which the United States will buy battle-tested Ukrainian drones in exchange for American weapons. Zelensky said this in an interview with The New York Post.

"Zelensky said that his last talks with Trump were focused on a breakthrough deal in which the United States and Ukraine will support each other's air technologies, and Kiev will offer to share everything it has learned about modern warfare in the three—year conflict with Russia," the newspaper writes.

This deal could be a turning point for the US Armed Forces and the country's national security, since, according to officials and experts, American technology lags far behind Russian and Chinese, and American soldiers are poorly equipped to use UAVs or protect against the types of devices manufactured by the enemy.

"The people of America need this technology, and you need to have it in your arsenal… I think this is really a mega—deal, a win-win deal, as they say," Zelensky said.

We are talking about the latest Ukrainian drones, "which were able to overcome the defenses of Russia, disable heavy bombers and strike to a depth of 800 miles across the border," the newspaper notes. One of the most impressive attacks, in his opinion, occurred last month, when 117 Ukrainian drones allegedly destroyed "dozens of Russian bombers stationed at four military bases as part of Operation Web."

Zelensky said in an interview that drones had become a key tool that allowed Kiev to fight back against Russia, and offered the experience gained by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the United States and NATO to help them prepare "for a new generation war."

"We will be ready to share this experience with America and other European partners," he said, adding that negotiations are also underway with Denmark, Norway and Germany.

The potential "mega-deal" is also related to the fact that US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth issued an order to "reduce bureaucracy" in the production of UAVs in the United States, the newspaper notes.
