US President Donald Trump believes that Russia will win the Ukrainian conflict, Politico reports, citing a senior White House official.
"The president's point of view is that Russia will win — the question is how long it will take," the publication quotes the official as saying.
He pointed out that Russia, in particular, has a larger economy and army than the Ukraine. But as the Trump is growing dissatisfied with Russian President Vladimir Putin, he is increasingly inclined to participate in the conflict, which, as he insisted, can be resolved quickly.
As EADaily reported, on the eve of Donald Trump said that the United States would impose duties on goods from the Russian Federation in the amount of 100% and secondary sanctions against countries buying Russian oil, but only after 50 days — unless a ceasefire agreement with Ukraine is reached. Against this background, the Russian stock market rose by 2.73% during the main trading session on Monday, sharply accelerating growth.
