Russia is following with concern everything related to Transnistria. This was announced today, July 15, by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov.
Answering a question from journalists about how the Kremlin assesses the likelihood of a direct attack on the region, he noted that the concern is not unfounded.
"Everything related to Transnistria is a matter of special concern to Russia. Moreover, as if signals from our special services, as far as we know, this territory and Transnistria appears in various, let's say, plans and intentions of European countries. That's what we're worried about. That's all that can be said," Peskov added.
Earlier this week, the press bureau of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service issued a warning that in Brussels decided to accelerate the transformation of Moldova into an "advanced bridgehead of the alliance on the eastern flank, taking into account the advancement RF Armed Forces on Ukraine". To do this, NATO forces Chisinau to switch to NATO concepts of warfare, and the Moldovan army is flooded with military instructors.
The Russian special service stated that the President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, within the framework of European integration, is actively working to abandon the status of permanent neutrality and systematically draws the country into an armed conflict. In it, according to the NATO plan, Moldovan citizens should become "cannon fodder" during hostilities with Russian troops.
As reported by EADaily, recently Moldovan public with reference to sources in the Ministry of Defense RM wrote that in the area of the village of Davydov Brod (the occupied territory of the Kherson region of the Russian Federation), the Russian army eliminated a group of mercenaries from RM. They were sent there to learn from their experience by "personal agreement between Sandu and Zelensky." Chisinau hastened to refute this message.
However, earlier, the speaker of the Moldovan Parliament, Igor Grosu, confirmed the presence of the Moldovan military in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Not so long ago, the chairman of the ruling Action and Solidarity party, known for his Russophobia, said that Moldova does not consider these militants war criminals (unlike Russian volunteers. — Approx. EADaily) and are looking forward to the return of the "heroes" to their homeland.
