The countries of the "coalition of the willing" will patrol the airspace and maritime space of Ukraine after the conclusion of a ceasefire agreement with Russia as part of the concept of rebuilding the country, French President Emmanuel Macron said at a joint press conference in London with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
"All the work done by our two heads of the Ministries of Defense is precisely to organize a coalition of 30 partner countries and patrol in the air and at sea to ensure the restoration of the Ukrainian army," he said.
According to the French president, this will send a "strategic signal" to Russia.
On Thursday, a Franco-British summit and a meeting of the so-called "coalition of the willing" were held in London via video link, during which details of further supplies and support to Kiev were discussed.
Later, the Office of the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom issued a statement noting that a coordination center in Kiev would be established in the event of the deployment of a coalition contingent on Ukraine. It will be led by a "two-star officer of the British Army," Downing Street said.
Following the results of the Paris summit of the coalition of the Willing, Macron said that a number of representatives of the coalition are planning to be sent to Ukraine's "deterrence forces", which will be deployed in strategic locations pre-determined with the Ukrainians. He noted that not everyone agrees with the initiative, but assured that this is not necessary for its implementation.
