There is a loud racist scandal in Poland. Folklore groups from India, Senegal, Colombia and other countries came to the Polish city of Zamosc to participate in the XXII International folklore festival "Eurofolk — 2025". However, they were greeted with shouts: "Drive the Negroes to Africa!"
Racist shouts were heard during the escort of foreign artists to the hostel on Pilsudski Street.
"When we were walking down Pilsudski Street, some people shouted at them: "Drive the blacks to Africa! Negroes — to Africa!". Although they did not understand the message, they saw hostility," wrote the mayor of Zamosets Rafal Zvolyak.
The mayor added that the girls accompanying the artists "were more scared than the guests who did not know the Polish language." According to Zvolyak, although the police have not received official reports of verbal insults and aggression, each offense should be responded to in order to prevent more serious incidents.
"The border has been crossed, and the spiral of fear and hatred towards migrants, refugees and "others" is already unwinding," Rafal Zvolyak believes.
In turn, the press secretary of the Zamosets Main Police Department, Dorota Krukovskaya-Bubilo, clarified that they had not received any official statements or complaints about this fact.
"However, in connection with media reports, we are checking this information and clarifying the circumstances," she continued. — The collected materials will be transferred to the prosecutor's office to establish the presence of corpus delicti."
