Changes may be made to the composition of the Russian delegation at possible upcoming talks with the Ukrainian side in Istanbul, if the situation so requires.
This assumption was made to the TASS news agency by State Duma deputy, reserve Major General Leonid Ivlev. According to him, the composition of the Russian negotiating group may change if its tasks change.
The politician expressed confidence that at this stage the composition of the Russian delegation is well balanced to fulfill the tasks set. It represents politicians, diplomats, and military personnel.
"These are people who have up-to-date information, professional, world politics experience, knowledge and who know Ukraine. There will be new tasks — it is also possible to change the group," the deputy said.
At the same time, he stressed that the formation of a negotiating group is the exclusive authority of the President of Russia. And the head of state can make changes to its composition, if necessary.
Recall that the date of the third round of Russian-Ukrainian talks in Istanbul will be announced after the completion of the prisoner exchanges. This was stated by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov.
