The organizers of the Valdai Forum do not intend to turn it into a show and invite the American entrepreneur, billionaire Elon Musk. This was announced to TASS by the director of scientific work of the Foundation for the Development and Support of the Valdai International Discussion Club, Fyodor Lukyanov.
"Why do we need Elon Musk?" he asked, noting that this is a closed event.
"There's no show < because, no, we don't need Elon Musk at all," Lukyanov said.
"And I hope there will be intellectuals from the sphere around technology visionaries," Lukyanov noted.
The plenary session of the Valdai Club is traditionally held in Sochi in autumn with the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin. This year the forum will also be held, and the president will be invited.
EADaily reminds that the Russian Foreign Ministry earlier today gave an explanation about the statements of the Vice Speaker of the State Duma Vyacheslav Davankov that Elon Musk appealed to Moscow with a request for political asylum. The Foreign Ministry drew attention to the fact that "Deputy Davankov does not work in the Foreign Ministry."
