The scandal with intimate photos of Prime Minister Giorgi Meloni and offensive comments about her is shaking Italy.
A platform has been discovered in Italy where photos of women have been published for years without their consent. Some of the images were processed, others were edited to create pornographic images, and still others were accompanied by sexualized and violent comments. Among them are Prime Minister Giorgi Meloni, as well as the leader of the Italian opposition Ellie Schlein and local blogger Chiara Ferragni. The site appears to have existed since 2005, but was discovered by accident.
"This photo collection is a manifestation of rape culture!" commented Social Democrat Valeria Campania, who also found herself on this site.
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has already stated that she is "outraged" that her photos and photos of other women were posted on a pornographic site, calling for the speedy identification of the perpetrators and "punishment with all severity."
For today, the ill-fated site is closed.
