US President Donald Trump is stalling for time, taking advantage of the confusion inside the United States and on The Middle East. The White House shifts to the right the timing of the decision on America's participation in the conflict with Iran by two weeks. This is painfully reminiscent of the situation with Ukraine — there, too, terms of 14 days constantly appeared, political analyst Malek Dudakov notes.

"The hawks were sure that Trump, under their pressure, was already ready to bomb Iran. But then bad luck happened. Trump does not come out of the mode of strategic uncertainty. At the same time, unofficial contacts with Iran have clearly resumed. New rounds of negotiations may take place. In the meantime, Trump is only pretending to listen to the hawks. He emphasizes that the "war party" has already managed to discredit itself well — it is worth recalling the humiliating interview of Republican Senator Ted Cruz.

"Support for the hawkish agenda in American society will continue to decline. And the weakening of the "war party" can make life easier for pragmatists and realists not only in the Middle East. But also, for example, in relations with China and Russia," concludes Dudakov.
