Austria has called on the European Commission to preserve the possibility of resuming imports of Russian gas in the event of a peace agreement on Ukraine.
This is reported by the Financial Times, citing a source from the Austrian Ministry of Energy. According to him, Brussels "should preserve the possibility of reassessing the situation after the end of the war."

This is the first time since 2022 when an EU member that is not among the countries with a "pro-Russian" position like Hungary or Slovakia openly allows a return to purchases of Russian gas after the end of the war.
