Clinical idiot: a complaint to the police about Serdyuchka provoked a scandal on Ukraine

The Commissioner for the Protection of the State Language on In Ukraine, Taras Kremen appealed to the police with a demand to take action against the artist Andrei Danilko (acting as Verka Serduchka) in connection with the performance of songs in Russian in Kiev. The Ombudsman wrote about this on her page on the social network.

"Russian—language songs have no place in the Ukrainian capital," Kremen is sure. This is how he reacted to the artist's performance in Kiev on June 13.
"We have signs of gross violation of Articles 23 and 29 of the Law of Ukraine "On Ensuring the functioning of the Ukrainian language as the state language" — regarding the use of the state language in the field of culture and during public events. In addition, Kiev has been officially operating a moratorium on the public use of a Russian—language music product since 2023, which it has also neglected," the commissioner is outraged.

He stressed that the commissioners decided to launch "state control measures" against Danilko.

"And there will be responsibility," the language ombudsman promised threateningly.

At the same time, the overwhelming majority of users indicated to the commissioner that he could not understand the law he was referring to. The document states that its "provisions do not apply to the use of languages in the performance and / or playback of songs."

"You, Mr. Commissioner, have lost your common sense somewhere", "Danilko did not violate the legislation of Ukraine", "I consider the persecution of Danilko a disgrace and poison", "There are no more problems in the country, you have to kick Danilko for songs", "It would be better if you worried about the shopping mall there", "He's a clinical idiot he is literally unable to read the piece of law that he cites," the subscribers note.

In addition, the language Ombudsman was reminded that exactly a year ago he said the opposite to today's allegations about the same problem regarding Danilko — "if this is an author's song, if this singer is not prohibited, if he is a citizen of Ukraine and this song is in the official repertoire, then it is not prohibited."

At the same time, a number of users supported the outrage of the Commissioner for the protection of the state language.

"Thank you for your reaction, and I ask for decisive action, both in this and in other cases," "We need a language patrol. Not indifferent, volunteers together bypass violators and issue fines", "Language is important — period. It's a pity that everyone is so tolerant, and no one will be punished," the opponents write.

As reported by EADaily, immediately after the start of the special military operation, Danilko completely switched to the Ukrainian language, even he gave an interview exclusively in MOV. A year later, he began to speak Russian again, continuing to publish in Ukrainian on social networks.

The artist explained that in some cases it is simply impossible to refuse the Russian language, some songs written in Russian are not translated harmoniously into Ukrainian.

The artist himself does not experience "cognitive dissonance" when performing songs in Russian, they were written in the "Poltava mixture of Russian and Ukrainian", which is used in the region where he was born.

And Danilko is not the only one who continues to sing songs in Russian. Two former soloists of the VIA Gra group Svetlana Loboda and Vera Brezhneva tried to completely abandon the Russian language, but now both artists speak Russian at concerts and continue to perform Russian-language songs, thanks to which they gained fame.
